Job Description:

The discovery team is part of Brainstorm’s R&D team, with a mission to identify novel therapeutic solutions and to initiate and advance scientific collaborations to enhance Brainstorm’s drug discovery pipeline. 

In this new role, reporting directly to VP R&D, the discovery scientist is expected to demonstrate diligence, creative scientific & analytical breadth, and an ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner. 

The main tasks will include:

• Innovation driver– identify and propose novel scientific solutions, prepare new project proposals and provide scientific justification, identify relevant partners globally and initiate collaborations in sync with Brainstorm’s strategic needs
• Biomarker analysis– plan and manage biomarker analysis projects in support of the clinical and preclinical departments, contribute to grant writing
• Scientific guidance– consult on ongoing projects, monitor the progress of new projects and work together with external advisors and internal teams to advance the projects

Qualifications:

Must have:

• Expert scientific background- PhD or Post-doc (neuroimmunology/nanoparticles /cell therapy/RNA therapeutics/drug delivery)
• Experience in interdisciplinary work across multiple scientific fields and technologies 
• Strong interpersonal skills, an enthusiastic team player
• A quick learner with a proactive approach
• Plenty of scientific curiosity, capable of independent work 
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Scientific writing and presentation skills
• Willingness to occasionally travel abroad

Optional:

• Previous experience in scouting and/or initiation of multiple collaborations- a plus
• Previous experience in the biotech industry- a plus
• Experience with AI-based scientific tools and databases- a plus
